Sunday, August 24, 2008 at 07:27PM Obviously this time of year I have not had too many "yaya adventures"....unless you want to call: getting oldest son ready to move out on his own, new grandbaby coming in about a month and a half and youngest son started high school----and has already had his first high school dance----adventures?
Let's start with the oldest son getting out on his own:
This is a young man (21) that finished college in 3 years with 2 majors (Math & Spanish) with a 3.7 average---but, is also the same son that when asked have you called the utilities company? have you gotten your checks ready? have you begun to pack your stuff? (because whatever is left behind goes to Goodwill) have you made the list of items you are going to need in order to start your own place? you know....dishes, towels, toliet paper, not to mention a bed? He just looks at me and says..."Nope, but I still have 2 weeks". :)
Then there is the second adventure of a new grandbaby girl coming in a few weeks! Her name is going to be Sadie and her big brother "Michael" is now almost 2 and is a loving young man. Yes, this is the same child that got a hold of his mom's red lipstick and decided to not only paint himself, but the light tan carpet and the walls. And the same loving child that called his grammy on the phone and for the first time said "debi"! no not "Grammy"----but called me by my name and then squeal with laughter.
Then the third adventure is the one of our youngest, Ryan, starting high school. He is attending a private college prep school for boys and is the 3rd generation to attend. So, he was a bit nervous (even though he has been a part of the school since he was 2)...guess it was having to follow up in his brother's footsteps, his dad, his 6 uncles, his brother-in-law and of course his grandfather. Guess that kind of history could make someone just a bit nervous? Didn't seem to be nervous about the dance though? Humn....need to keep an eye on this one!
Hope you had a great summer as we all prepare for getting back to somewhat "normal" routines? yeah right....ain't nothing normal about my life and its adventures----and wouldn't have it anyother way!
Until next time....hugs....debi
